The Ducky award, given by
the Tulane University chapter of the Omicron Delta Kappa, is named for Karlem "Ducky" Reiss. Ducky Reiss was a Tulane undergraduate student who went to Brown to earn a PhD in Physics, returning to Tulane to spend his career there. He was associated with Tulane for 70 years of his life. He received the President's Medal from Tulane and for decades lead the procession into Tulane's commencement. He is widely recognized for his commitment to students and service. He was in his 90's when he passed away during the hurricane Katrina evacuation. A memorial service was held in his honor on January 20, 2006.
